What kind of router is suitable for a family?

I will use more rigorous words to give a comprehensive function definition, which will help to a certain extent in future purchases.

The main function of the home wireless router is to set up a wireless local area network (Wireless Local Network): it is used to establish a wireless connection between devices in a limited area and it can connect to an external network (such as the wide-area Internet) through a gateway.

Simply put, a wireless router has two basic functions:

1. The wireless access function of the device (Access Point): allows devices like mobile phones, computers, and other devices to be connected via wireless links to build a home intranet.

2. And data packets are forwarded from the LAN to the WAN routing function (Router): allows data from the internal network and the external network to be transferred through the router as a bridge/gateway to complete the data interaction between the LAN and the Internet.

Modern home wireless routers are a combination of Access Point and Router (and perhaps a switch)

Wireless access and internal and external network routing are also common standards for measuring the quality of routers. Other functions such as firewall, MAC address filtering, port mapping, and Mesh networking, roaming, transparent proxy, and QoS shunt owned by some mid-to-high-end routers are extensions of these two basic functions.
